Folkodia was found at the end of 2007. At present time 12 musicians of 8 countries (Greece, Switzerland, Lithuania, Australia, Monaco, Canada, USA, Germany) take part in this project. They’re members of Folkearth, Sunuthar, Minhyriath, Black Knight Symphonia, Troldhaugen, Seventh Sword and some other bands.
The genre of Folkodia is folk / viking metal with using of different acoustic instruments as flute, pipes, violin and of course electric and acoustic guitars.
The first album of the project "Odes from the past" was issued in June of 2008 by the forces of the band. Later the band has signed the contract with Stygian Crypt productions for release the second album “In A Time Of Legends”. 14th of April 2009 it was released. The third album under name «Battlecry” has released by Stygian Crypt productions at the 4th of March 2010.
